Leadership Training Yesterday

Yesterday I attended leadership training for my new position as Secretary/Treasurer for our chapter. The meeting was held at the Minnesota Landscape Arburetum in Chaska from noon to five pm. Speakers included Director, Nancy Giacomuzzi, National Trainer, Tanya Peterson of Sarasota, Florida and a full roster of Assistant Directors and Ambassadors. Many improvements and changes have been made since I took leadership training for my role as chapter president a few years ago. Among the biggest change is the revamping of the BNI web presence. BNI Connect now gives us the opportunity to communicate very effectively outside of our weekly meetings. Some referrals can't wait for Tuesday mornings and we can now network within the BNI system. I was given a report on our chapter's participation and see that many of us will need to "get on board" to make this work. The role of secretary/treasurer is far more involved than I had imagined and I look forward to utilizing all aspects of this position to help make everyone's Westonka BNI experience successful. Scott and Mike will be attending another leadership training session on the 23rd and I am sure they will find it as enlightening and educational as I did.
